A top-notch lakeside restaurant with its own radio channel, located at the edge of the Zuidas and surrounded by greenery. Sounds pretty special! But for Ferry van Houten, owner and chef of Het Bosch restaurant, that wasn’t enough. So he came up with Waterfront Chill & Groove, a place where beats meet bites.

“We call it dining at Michelin-star level, with delicious food and a choice of more than fifty wines poured by the glass”, Ferry explains. “From Monday to Friday we serve lunch and dinner for business customers and on Friday and Saturday night we have Supper & Sound, a 4-, 5- or 6-course dinner with live music.”

Live music is Ferry’s other passion: spinning records under the name of DJ V3RYF3RRY. “Het Bosch has its own radio station, broadcasting 24/7, and we’re playing that music live in our restaurant on Friday and Saturday night. But we’re still a restaurant where guests come to experience our wonderful food, so it’s all about easy dining with good music in the background.”

Dinning and music

But how nice would it be if the music would take over for once? Like when the beat goes up after a nice dinner and the party starts kicking? Well, four years ago Ferry came up with the Waterfront Chill & Groove concept, a waterside lounge event on the terrace of his own restaurant.

“This event is based on a combination of good food and groovy music”, Ferry explains. “In the weekend before the summer holiday period starts we change the terrace into one big lounge area. Guests can relax in the lounge sofas, on poufs or at bar tables. But they can also moor their boat or, if they’ve got a VIP ticket, take a seat at one of the dedicated tables.”
