Anyone who wants to know what Amstelveen has to offer in terms of greenery, sports and recreation, can pick up a copy of the Amstelveen Greenmap.
It is is the first time that this map, which includes walking and cycling routes, has become available. The typical Amstelveen play pools are also on it. The part of the Amsterdamse Bos, which is located in Amstelveen, has no fewer than six walking routes, with numerous catering and recreational opportunities. Then there are the heme parks, of which the Dr. Jac. P. Thijssepark and De Braak are even national monuments.
The Amsterdam Forest Theater and Elsrijk Open Air Theater are also worth a visit. The Greenmaps can be found in cardboard displays at more than forty places in Amstelveen, at hotels, B & Bs, recreation companies, library, Amstelland Hospital, town hall and green institutions such as the visitor center of the Amsterdamse Bos.
